The mind is already in the body

and in a world, a sensate free-floating presence

that traverses the openness of every

where and when, traceless

and unconfined, that implicates sensation

with expanse

This outwardly engaged inwardness,

this dialectic between intention and action,

this readily felt presence,

this sense-grounded wakefulness,

welcomes experience,

for it is already outside its self,

its configuring openness

grounds and horizons our intent.

Such a mind can touch

and be touched anywhere.

Like a drop of water on a still lake,

the path breaks inwards,

a coming to the surface,

a venturing forth…

In death, the body incarnates

its awakening

Symbolic and inborn,

the body’s

image of itself

prefigures its appearance

in the world
