POSITION

Here, sitting
in a darkened room

or on the flat roof,
or in the tree shaded yard

not registering this
as I am now

standing
bent towards a screen,

taking account
or, even later, lying in bed,

as we will…
but here, just here.

Between this place
and this long lived in body

a force hovers
Draw it in, all the senses

open Draw it in
Not naming, barely sensing

Not observing, outside
looking towards,

but inwardly expansive,
as some presence

now arrayed
throughout the body

moist, distilled, sky-born,
lifts me. Light-footed, and at ease

Even as I walk
through the city’s dense

labyrinth
